Grilled Steak Sandwich with Salsa Spread
Pepper-rubbed, thinly sliced steak stacked on grilled sourdough with lettuce and a salsa spread.
Yield: 24 servings
INGREDIENTSQUANTITYDIRECTIONS
Salsa Spread: 
1. Combine mayonnaise, salsa, green onions and cilantro; mix thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Yield: 3 cups.
Mayonnaise1 3/4 cups
Prepared salsa, drained1 cup
Green onions, sliced2 ounces
Cilantro, minced2 tablespoons
  
2. For each serving: Spread 1 side of bread slice with 1-ounce ladle of Salsa Spread. Plate and top with 1 ounce lettuce.
Sourdough or Italian bread, 1-inch thick slices, grilled24 slices
Iceberg lettuce1 1/2 pounds
  
3. Coat both sides of 1 steak with pepper. Grill to desired doneness, turning once. Thinly slice steak across the grain. Arrange 4-1/2 ounces of steak slices over lettuce.
