Pita Pizza Burgers
Grilled beef patties baked on a pizza round with Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses and tomato sauce.
Yield: 24 servings

1. Sauté onions and garlic in oil until tender. Stir in tomatoes and herbs; remove from heat. Season with salt and pepper.

Garlic, minced1 ounce
Olive oil1/4 cup
Tomatoes, seeded and diced2 quarts
Fresh chopped herbs1 1/3
Dried herbs3 tablespoons
Salt as needed
Ground black pepper as needed
  
2. Grill beef patties to desired doneness, turning once. Keep hot.

3. For each serving: Brush both sides of 1 pita with oil. Top with 1 ounce mozzarella and 1/2 ounce parmesan cheeses. Place grilled beef patty on top of cheese. Top with additional mozzarella cheese and #12 dipper (1/3 cup) tomato sauce.

4. Place on pre-heated baking sheet; bake in 450°F oven 8 to 10 minutes or until bread is crisp and cheese is melted.

NOTE: Focaccia squares or individual Boboli may be substituted for pita loaves.
